<10>PSG vs Lille
Both sides exited the Coupe de France — were they saving energy for this clash?
Some may argue that PSG are not at their best this season. After 17 league rounds, they surprisingly sit second behind Lens, and they suffered a shock Coupe de France defeat to Paris FC. Lille, meanwhile, are fourth in Ligue 1, and even if they lose here, many believe it won’t be by more than two goals.

First of all, PSG’s cup exit looks very much like a strategic loss. Allowing city neighbours Paris FC to progress while keeping their own focus elsewhere is not unusual. Lille did something similar, heavily rotating in the cup, clearly prioritising league form over a deep cup run.
Secondly, PSG do not appear overly stressed about the league table. They are only one point behind Lens and remain strong favourites to regain top spot sooner rather than later, given their squad depth and overall quality. For Luis Enrique and the club as a whole, the primary objective this season is still the Champions League. With a crucial European fixture coming up in four days, squad management and energy conservation are clearly part of the plan.
Based on the market numbers, PSG should have no problem securing the win. Other betting angles carry higher risk.
Prediction: Home win (PSG)
